Description Pitcher, part of a pitcher and goblet set, with spun urn-shape body, die-rolled border of egg-and-dart molding inserted at shoulder of body, body engraved with stylized leaf-and-scroll strapwork, broad neck outlined with beading, circular foot engraved on top surface with wreath of leaves, handle surmounted by cast figure of a putto wearing drapery and holding a goblet while seated on roundel enclosing dolphins, lower handle terminal a cast male grotesque mask, handle cast in halves and seamed together, and side handle surface granulated. Inscription: Engraved on body: "A Memorial Gift/from/Mary A. Williamson/(Died Apr. 29, 1864)/TO/Edwin B. Williamson/As the sole heir of her Son/George R. Williamson/(Died Sept. 4, 1852)". Mark: Incuse, struck on underside of base: "S & M"/ [lion passant] [anchor] [Gothic "G"] in reserves/"560".
