Description Decanter stand of cloverleaf outline with bands of die-rolled wave border applied around base and forming rings holding two bottles. The rings are attached to a central support forming flat loop ornamented at midpoint with grotesque masks, and near apex with cast medallion portrait masks. The rings and loop handles are joined by turned silver balusters with central knops. The stand holds two cut-glass decanters with glass stoppers. Inscription: Engraved: George Peabody to Cyrus W. Field / New-York. 24th Nov. 1866. Mark: Struck on underside of base: [lion passant] [anchor] [Gothic G] / 60 / S & M.
