Cut from the peach faille, the mock vest has a narrow shawl collar; cuffs and bands on the skirt are cut from the contrast silk. The vest fastens at center front with fabric covered buttons and thread buttonholes. Both the collar and cuffs are trimmed with matching silk bindings at the edges. The organdy ruffle at the neckline is basted in to facilitate removal for laundering. The overlays on the bodice meet at the center under a large rosette. Although they appear to be separate sections; the layers are all cut as part of the bodice itself.
Corded piping outlines the armhole and side back seams. Small covered weights are sewn to the wrong side of the basque points. The three-quarter sleeves have a cuff at the hem and detachable organdy undersleeves with eyelet embroidery.
