The dress has a small square neckline with a lace yoke over satin. The yoke is made of several narrow strips of lace that have been inconspicuously overlapped and sewn with small running stitches. The slightly mounted neckline is finished with lace scallops. Gilt lace is applied to the velvet immediately below the yoke. Stitched in place with backstitches, the gigot sleeves have exaggerated velvet puffs above the elbow and narrow fitted sleeves of lace over satin to the wrist. Shorter inner sleeves are inserted into the upper sleeve to control the fullness above the elbow. A lace flounce extends over the hands.
